The Canadian Women’s Foundation held its eleventh annual national fundraising campaign to End Violence against women and has generously donated a portion of the proceeds to Bethlehem.
In 2015 the Bethlehem Housing and Support Services Board of Directors staff and stakeholders developed a strategic plan as our roadmap for the next three years. Our goal is to become “A leading model of excellence in affordable housing and supportive services”
On Sunday, November 6, 2015, Paula Shaw, owner of Paula’s Elegant Bride, hosted the 4th Annual Charity Bridal Fashion Show with proceeds going to Bethlehem Housing and Support Services. The event keeps getting bigger every year, and in 2015 an amazing $6,470 in proceeds were donated to Bethlehem!
The experience of homelessness is different for everyone. While it can become challenging to fully comprehend the increasing numbers, the reasons for homelessness are usually the result of a number of factors – rather than a single cause.
As awareness of trauma-informed care increases the need to ensure community services are trauma-informed is growing stronger. As we continue to provide support services to those facing homelessness across the Niagara Region, it is critical that our frontline staff are trained with professional practices that strengthen our ability to serve the region’s diverse population.
Bethlehem Housing and Support Services celebrated the 10th anniversary of their signature fundraising event, Empty Bowls, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. The event was attended by over 500 guests and raised over $30,000 to help support the important work of Bethlehem!
Over $15,000 in net proceeds were raised at the 2014 Kenmore Homes’ Amazing Race car rally for Bethlehem Housing, that was held Sunday, August 24, 2014. Nine spirited (and colourful) teams competed in the fundraising event that started and finished at Walker Industries Head Office and raced throughout the Niagara Region.
Bethlehem Housing and Supposed Services hosted its 9th Annual Golf Tournament at Whirlpool Golf Course on Friday, May 30, 2014. The event raised close to $7,000 in net proceeds!
