On November 8, 2019 the Women in Niagara Council hosted their 19th Annual Women in Business Awards at the Marriott on The Falls celebrating the contributions and achievements of women from across Niagara. Our Executive Director, Lori Beech was honoured with the Community Impact Award.
Lori has been acknowledged for her determined leadership and for her dynamic role in facilitating multi-sector engagement of private sector partners, volunteers, board of directors, staff, government and community partners in the development of an innovative affordable housing P3 partnership project at 111 Church Street in St Catharines. This development will soon be home to 127 families!
In a letter of congratulations to Lori from Mayor Walter Sendzik, he said, "Your success speaks to your compassionate spirit and your genuine motivation to make a tangible and measurable impact on our community. Those who have housing can focus their energy on their own well-being and work towards achieving independence in every corner of their lives. The services and the housing models you've championed are valuable resources required to build a strong and resilient community. I've appreciated your leadership as we face today's affordable housing crisis. Your accomplishments are respected by our business community and are especially inspiring to women throughout Niagara."
On behalf of the staff and board of directors of Bethlehem Housing and Support Services we give a proud applause to Lori and thank her for her outstanding leadership.
