Giving Tuesday is a new Canadian movement where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others. It celebrates and encourages donations and volunteering activities that support charities and non-profit organizations.

Housing is the foundation on which we build our lives, engage in society and contribute to the economic well-being of our community. When everyone has an affordable, safe place to live, we all benefit. Right now, 4,600 families — about 11,000 people — are on the wait list for rent-geared-to-income housing in the region of Niagara.

Bethlehem Housing and Support Services has been turning lives around for almost 30 years.

We are the only organization in Niagara offering supportive transitional and permanent housing for women, men and their children with a focus on families who are homeless due to issues with poverty, physical disability, mental health, domestic violence and family breakdown.

Since 1988, we have helped more than 2,000 families stabilize their lives by providing housing and support services to help them break the cycle and gain the confidence, skills and health to remain securely housed.
