Transitional – Bethlehem Place – 58 Welland Avenue:

  • A comprehensive support program

Bethlehem Place is a 27-unit apartment building providing affordable, transitional, supportive housing to people in need in the Niagara Region who wish to make change in their lives. Capacity is about 65 residents.

Bethlehem Place is an ongoing success story. Since it opened in 1988, thousands of women, men and children have lived in the building, and participated in the programs designed to develop skills, stability and confidence to move on to independent living. Residents may live in the building for up to one year.

People come to Bethlehem Place for a variety of reasons such as abuse, homelessness or family breakdown. During their stay residents are given support through individual counselling, support groups and a wide range of lifeskills workshops.

Permanent – Genesis Court – 151 James Street:

Genesis Court provides permanent housing for men, women and families of low to moderate income. Four of the units are accessible and designed for persons with disabilities.  Coordinated support services are provided for tenants and a Community Room provides space for both tenants’ programs and a meeting space for other non-profit groups.

Permanent – Community Support Homes:

There are a total of 8 apartments at 3 different community support homes in downtown St. Catharines. Families and single residents of these apartments are supported by Bethlehem Housing and Support Services and other community services.  Priority is given to residents leaving our transitional program at Bethlehem Place.
